2012: Year in Review

(Written by Kodi Wolf sometime in 2013)

No new chapters posted again.

But at least I finally got the membership site off the ground.

And with the money I made, I was able to not only cover all my expenses for the year, but also get a new computer to replace the 4-year-old one I'd been using (before it could fall apart and take all my stories with it).

Of course, running two computers at once while I was still transfering files from the old one to the new one did cause a few mishaps, one of which nearly wiped out all of my stories and notes (and nearly gave me a heart attack), but thankfully I was able to recover all but the most recent note files I'd created.

Then there was more medical drama, with me passing another kidney stone (the drugs for which drain me of all creativity), and my wife finding a lump in her breast. Thankfully, it turned out to be benign, but for several months, I was barely writing because I was terrified I was going to lose my wife. The lack of writing only got worse after I hurt my back (again) and was forced to stay off the computer from about the middle of September through all of December.

At least I was able to work on my writing skills by reading several new books regarding story structure, which set me up well for most of 2013, except for the first part. My cat Felix died in December and it was really difficult to focus on my writing for several months after that (more on that in the archive for 2013).

Moral of the Story

There's a quote by Arthur Ashe that has stuck with me ever since I first read it:

Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Do what you can.

I may not be physically or emotionally where I'd prefer to be, but I'm doing what I can, when I can, with what I've got.

Hey,

Sorry for the fake out, but I don't collect email addresses for marketing purposes.

I was just told I needed an email signup form on my pages, so I created this one as part of the original design, then changed my mind, but decided to leave this here as an Uno reverse card. :)

Anyway, my stories are my sales pitch and if the free chapters (and entire books) aren't enough to convince you to pay for access to more of the same, then I don't see how my bugging you with emails is going to change your mind.

Plus, I have social phobia and trying to come up with marketing emails is my definition of an anxiety-inducing nightmare.

Not to mention that's not what I want to be doing with my precious writing time or wasting your precious reading time.

So, if you want to get an email from me, you'll either have to purchase a Story or Site Membership, or email me directly and talk to me about my stories.

Or ask me a question and I'll do my best to answer.

But seriously, email me about my stories.

Tell me what you liked, what you wish I'd done differently, your favorite scenes.

Especially if there's one story in particular you'd like me to update. I know some of them have been sorely neglected and it motivates me to work on them when my anxiety and chronic pain are making that more difficult than usual.

Hope to hear from you soon. :)

Take care,

Kodi
