Writing Stats For 2020

So yeah. 2020. And I thought 2019 was insane (though that was on a more personal front rather than global). Anyway...

Here are my stats for 2020.

Compared to last year, my total dropped by about 43,000 words again, which is a lot, especially considering that my total time spent writing dropped by only about 17 hours. My words per hour dropped by about 100, so I definitely slowed down. However, I know I was doing a lot of editing, which doesn't get me as many words for the same amount of time, but I still managed to maintain my target average of 500 words/day, so that's good enough for me.

I also managed to post over 52,000 words, just like I did in 2018 and 2019, so I'm happy with that.

My goals for 2020 were pretty much the same as the previous year.

• Maintain a daily average of at least 500 words. (Done - see above)

• Write every day to keep my streak going. (Done - 1,820 days, including today)

• Post new story chapters. (Done - posted over 52,000 words on A Bondage Primer)

I also decided after January's lowest day of 113 words that I didn't want to fall below 100 words for any of my lowest days, which pushed me to keep writing to get those extra words on days when I felt like I didn't have it in me.

Considering that 2020 was 2020, I think I did amazingly well for that decade long year.

New ABP Chapter Posted

I've added Day 26 to A Bondage Primer. It came in at just over 28,000 words.

And I'm sorry it's taken me so long to post again. Part of it was just me getting stuck on multiple things (for ABP, it was transitions between scenes that gave me the most trouble, for Xena: Warrior Slave, I'm still stuck on rewrites for one scene in Part 3). But I've also been posting previews over on my Patreon, which kind of let me relax a little where posting updates to this site was concerned.

It also gave me a lot of motivation to get more scenes done enough to let others preview them. I was originally going to just post bits of Day 26 (and later Days) for my Patrons to check out, but then as I got more done, I realized I was really close to finishing, so I decided to wait so I could post the whole Day.

I still plan to post previews of ABP over there, along with other stories (my Patrons currently have access to the first 8 chapters of the revised version of Lights of Life and Parts 6-10 of X:WS), but I'm happy with how this turned out, since the whole point is to get me to write more.

My current plans are to try to get the rewrites for X:WS finished before the end of the year, so I can post the new chapters for everyone to read, though at the rate I'm going, I might finish Part 11 before I finish the edits to the earlier chapters.

I also have a new Xena fanfic that's nearing completion, but we'll see how that goes. (Every time I think it's almost done, they just keep having more sex. :) It's already at almost 20,000 words ).
